Seawater pumping
Seawater is pumped from the Costa de Antigua catchment well to the Montaña Blanca desalination plant along two 2,759-metre pipelines. The pipes are made of polyethylene, with a 315-mm diameter and a pressure of PN 10.
The pipelines run along a water service trench on the southern edge of the Costa de Antigua housing development. They then run under the FV-2 road and in a straight line to the Montaña Blanca desalination plant.
Next, the pipelines discharge the seawater into the water feeder tank of the plant, situated at a height of 55 m.
You can check the origin of the drinking water in your municipality on the SINAC (National Drinking Water Information System) website.
